Card security is just a few taps away

We’ve all had that sinking feeling that comes with losing your transaction or debit card.

With the ING mobile app, security for your card is just a few taps away. Here are a couple of ways you can take card security into your own hands in a few easy steps.

Change your PIN

Maybe you’ve realised that “1234” isn’t as foolproof as you once thought. Maybe you just plain forgot your PIN and can’t remember. No matter: now’s your chance to take control of your card security. Changing your PIN in the ING app is simple.

Android:

1. Tap the drop down menu next to the account name
2. Press “Change my card PIN”
3. Choose and confirm your new PIN. Choose a number that’s not related to a specific date or another recognizable number so others can’t guess it, and it’s good to change every few months.

Apple:

1. Tap the arrow next to the account name
2. Select “Change card PIN”
3. Choose and confirm your new PIN. As above, think of a unique number.

Put your card on hold

We all know the feeling when you get out of a cab, pat your pockets and feel…nothing. You’ve left your wallet behind. Before you fret, just remember that you can easily use the ING app to put your card on hold while you retrieve it back, just in case. This way no transactions can be made with your card while you track it down. It’s that easy to help calm some of those card stress nerves.

Android:

1. Tap the drop down menu next to the account name
2. Press “Put my card on hold”
3. Hit confirm
4. If there are transactions you don’t recognize, give us a call

Apple:

1. Tap the arrow next to the account name
2. Select “Hold card”
3. Select “Continue”
4. If there are transactions you don’t recognize, give us a call

Securing your ING Orange Everyday account is as simple as a few taps in the mobile app, any time you need.
