The great ATM fee revolution

The $2.50 ATM fee. Isn’t it glorious? Don’t you love it?

No? You and the rest of Australia.

In fact, it’s our No.1 most hated fee. For a country that doesn’t get angry much, it’s making us pretty angry. Like Steve here. Not only is Steve angry about paying it, he goes out of his way to avoid it, too.

Well, Steve’s not alone.

  • 50% of people are wearing out their sneakers on countless missions to avoid paying that $2.50 ATM fee.
  • 97% of Aussies will even take some action to avoid paying the fee, like getting cash out from the corner store.
